Want to become our new Chairperson ?

posted 9 Feb 2014, 06:33 by Graham Keeble

After 7 plus years serving as Chairperson for the club and one of the people responsible for setting up the club, Andy Gauld will be stepping down from this position at our AGM in May 2014.

We will be thanking Andy for his immense contributions to the club over the years and are now looking for someone to continue in his footsteps. The Chairperson is a mandatory position which we need to fill if the club is to continue to exist moving forward.

Therefore, we are immediately looking a number of people interested in taking up the Chairpersons role who could then be nominated at the AGM. We would also be interested in any volunteers who like to help out the by getting more involved in the running of the club and participating as a committee member.

Anyone who may be interested in the Chairpersons role or helping out on the committee or just knowing a little more about what is involved should contact Graham on the details below. They would also be welcome to attend our committee meetings in March & April to get a feel for what is involved.

An outline of the FA guidance on the Chairpersons role is included below.

The role of the Club Chairperson is to chair the Committee meetings and AGM, assist the secretary to produce the agendas and lead the committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole club including disciplinary matters. It is essential that the Chairperson is a strong leader who can be objective and support the Secretary.
